
Scarborough HERstory Expressions
A FREE one-week mural art-making intensive for young women and non-binary youth ages 14-19.

Over five in-person sessions, participants work with Scarbrite to co-create an indoor wall mural that reflects their own personal and collective experiences in the community.
Who?
This program is for Scarborough-based young women and non-binary youth creators (between 14 to 19 years old) who are interested in learning about mural-art making and gaining project management skills.
When?
Running twice a year – during the March Break and in the Late Summer the selected participants will meet daily 10am – 4pm.
Where?
In-person at community centres, libraries and other public gathering places in Scarborough. Each time the program is offered it takes place at a different location to allow youth from all over Toronto’s East End to participate.







Program Benefits
• Participants feel more ✨CONFIDENT, PREPARED & EMPOWERED✨ to express themselves, work in collaborative settings, and secure artistic projects of their own.
• Participants receive a certificate, volunteer hours, and an honourarium of $250 upon program completion.
• Participants are invited to help support future Scarbrite programs as artist assistants.
